About the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) : The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is a statutory body set up under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 to regulate the accountancy profession. About Mangaluru Branch of ICAI : Founded on 18 August 1971, the Mangaluru Branch of the Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) serves Dakshina Kannada and Kasaragod districts, supporting roughly 700 members and 3,500 students. Regular conferences, workshops, study circles, social outreach, sports meets, industrial visits and career-counselling drives have helped the branch collect multiple “Best Branch” awards in recent years.
